The Case Study was originally developed in 1999 for a post graduate course for East European students at the T.M.C. Asser Institute in The Hague, the Netherlands. The project has been used in this course with great success for almost a decade. Between 2002 and 2012 Professor Berger has taught a post-graduate course based on the project as visiting professor at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee (CEPMLP), Scotland. In 2004 Stefan Hoffmann used the Case Study and the arbitration videos in a training course for judges in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. Since 2009 Professor Berger conducts an annual practice building course for local and international practitioners based on the project at the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC). Courses have also been organized for other international and domestic institutions such as the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ).
